Preserve and Enhance Your Memory

It's disconcerting to notice subtle declines in one's memory, but it doesn't mean all hope is lost. The concept of cognitive reserve, a term neuroscientists use to refer to the memory and thinking power we can develop to slow age-related declines, suggests that we can strengthen our cognitive abilities. Much like a prized car, a little care and maintenance will keep things running smoothly through the years. For ones' memory, taking the right preventative measures can provide peace - and clarity - of mind.

Research indicates that as we age, changes in our brains naturally occur, breaking down our mental capacity. This can eventually lead to dementia, including the form of dementia called Alzheimer's disease, and produce loss of memory, judgment, language and problem solving skills. But research from around the world, including the United States, also tells us that education helps avoid this decline, as does living an active lifestyle filled with mentally stimulating pursuits and physical activity. British scientists have shown that diet plays a role as well, and that the right diet can reduce the odds of developing cognitive deficits.

The Cognitive Reserve Program

Built on this foundation of scientific evidence, our team of doctors has devised a series of lifestyle changes that promise to enhance the cognitive reserve. This isn't some unsustainable diet that will have you eating only fiber and cabbage soup, nor will you be expected to work out three hours a day. No, instead these are subtle changes that both hold promise for your memory and quality of life overall. Sign up and every day you'll be provided with a challenge aimed at enhancing your mental flexibility and skill, as well as your vocabulary. Every week a complete recipe and exercise plan will be laid out, offering suggestions customized to your needs. Whether you are a proficient athlete or have been committed to avoiding physical exercise, we can provide a plan tailored to your needs to promote physical activity, providing your mind and brain with the conditions needed to promote optimum cognitive performance.

This multidimensional program may be focused on mental health, but offers rewards far beyond. We've all made resolutions to lose a little weight, to get off the couch, maybe to cook more or expand our vocabulary. The Cognitive Reserve program offers you the ability to do all that, plus keep your memory sharp in the years ahead. It's a true win from all perspectives.

What Can I Expect?

Suggestions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided as part of the Cognitive Reserve program. Meals are flavorful, delicious, healthy, and reasonable to prepare. A sampling of dinners include Chicken Cacciatore with Baked Apple Cobbler, Basil Chicken Whole Wheat Pizza with a Mixed Green Salad, and Chicken Fajitas with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes.

Daily mental challenges will frequently look more like puzzles or games than brain-building exercises. Physical exercises include a mix of cardio and strength trainings, with a all-encompassing plan that includes starting stretches and closing cool down. We'll get your blood pumping a couple times a week, aiding the brain and body alike.
